nuclearfuels Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 I agree with this statement from General COnference: Good information leads to good inspiration. Does it then follow that we can determine what Good Info we provide for those who determine future callings? Curious as to what results have been attained by those of you who more or less achieved specific Good Information accomplishmetns or service / volunteer / callings vs. say for example, serving in Primary for +10 years as my siblings and I have. Say for example before your 1:00pm ward meets, you went to a 9 o'clock foreign langauge branch (small congregation) without being called or invited toa ttend there - - what has that led to in your experience? Really I'm asking what results have those of you who have visualized your goals in church service (and in other volunteer service) when you are retired - and then worked toward those goals - what results have you seen?
Calm Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 I have interpreted that saying as accurate info leads to better inspiration than leaving someone to go in cold or worse, provide them with inaccurate facts or even lies that mislead and may shut down good possibilities. 3

I'm a little confused by your question. It seems in the last paragraph you may be clarifying what your question is, but I'm a confused on how that works with the quote about good information. Would you give me a little more info so I can help you better please? I 2
rpn Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 If you are asking whether faithful service means you'll be called to what you want to do when you are old, I'd say sometimes (if you want to serve in the temple for instance, you can ask your bishop to recommend you to the Temple President and then you can volunteer. Are specific people able to be better at certain callings because of earlier church service, of course. But unless one is in an area where personal history and relationship to other well known/loved people determines callings (I've only been in one such congregation), I don't think there is any chain of callings or individual callings that have to be preparatory for any other calling. (There are a few callings that require certain abilities and characteristics of person and spouse (I'm thinking patriarch, but I've also heard of stenographers being persons other than spouse from time to time.) 1
