Excuse me I don't need to see a therapist . Why do people discuss anything here at all. Clearly if we have to discuss any of these issues here we could all go to our own communities and find "professionals". So why not close down all social media and send everyone to our individual churches in our own communities. Maybe I've had to deal with this lately but y'all act as if I asked some dark sexual unreasonable question. And no I'm not going to go spend $100 to sit 1 hour with a stranger when I could discuss it here....for free....I thought? And it's because so many Christians in so many places are so biassed and jealous. I'd much rather get support from people I don't even know rather than spending $$$ to ask the same question to another total stranger or risk further isolation and judgement amount all the gossips out there....who will use it for their entertainment.

What about joining one of those for fun? My friends have often made quilts for foster care kids and refugees. Something that helps them feel a little home. rpn Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 The thing about paying a good therapist is that you GET to talk about whatever you want to talk about and they are trained to help you figure out those specific things and get skills for other things. If you are looking for friend group, I don't really know an online space where those are easily developed or continued. They are usually found in the course of service in the community, and/or shared interests groups. 2

They have studied the theory and have practiced under supervision. 2. A support group. A group of people who support each other, often in a specific area. 3. A discussion board where people come together to talk about different topics. Mormon Dialogue and Discussion is a discussion board. It absolutely cannot do the work of a therapist though we do have therapists who participate and it not a support group though we do have people who support each other. When people say that you need to see a therapist it is because what they see is that what you need help with can't be accomished with a support group and definitely not a discussion board. They could be absolutely wrong about someone needing a therapist, but either way a discussion board can't help like a therapist can. So if you want to discuss our church you are in the right place. If you want free therapy this board isn't going to be where you will be able to get it. It's not that we don't want to help, it's just that the board, as a whole, is not capable of doing it. I didn't say I wanted free therapy. Someone else said I should go see a therapist....well we all have issues with the church. I don't need a therapist. I simply just st wanted to discuss a problem I see within the church and the world. But forever it. And yes that is what the church is for. They are sappist to listen to each other not cut them off or try and say they need professional help.
