The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-212) is a United States law which recognizes an embryo or fetus in utero as a legal victim, if they are injured or killed during the commission of any of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence. The law defines "child in utero" as "a member of the species Homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb."

Sorry. Chum’s drive-by, one-line provocation was too much for me to ignore, I guess, and I responded with my own quick and brief remark. 
 

If I might say a word in my own behalf, I held my tongue (keyboard?) when Chum and Nehor both tried to veer off into a full-scale political derail. I think Chum made three or four posts before he finally quieted down. 
 

But I’ll try to behave.

But I’ll try to behave. 

I'm quite the hypocrite -- I started derailing the Covid discussion thread by trotting out vaccination mandate posts. Which of course spurred others to come rushing in with responses.  I did object to pogi's incorrect use of "who's" vs "whose" as a nod to you, but shortly afterwards went back and deleted most of the post it was in an attempt to cut off the derail. You might have gotten a notification of the mention -- but it's no longer there.

I haven’t been following the COVID discussion thread (the back-and-forth has become more than a little tedious for me) so I would have missed that post. And I don’t think I did get a notification. How long ago was it?

Footnote: I gotta say, though, that “who’s” makes me chuckle. I don’t think I’ve seen a pronoun that badly mangled. 
 

Added later: Correcting myself here. I did get a notification, which I had overlooked. So out of curiosity, I went into the thread and saw that you had deleted the post. Out of a sense of mild rebellion, I did give you an upvote for the sole purpose of neutralizing one of the two down votes you had received on a post.
