  1. 1. Are religious people more moral than atheists?

    • Yes. People can't be moral as they can possibly be unless they believe in some kind of God or religion that teaches them right from wrong.

    • Religion or a belief in God is not required, but it does help us to become more moral and learn right from wrong.

    • No. No God or religion required at all for a person to be as moral as a religious person.

:POh yeah...another AARP member....tell me, do you get as confused as I do with all their mail???  I don't know how many things I have contributed to outside the $16.00!!

I only joined because I wanted the day bag.  It looked like it was worth the 16 bucks.  ;)

I love those kind of things to carry stuff in.  I sell out really easily when you throw in something I can carry stuff in.  ;)

Atheism leads to Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro etc etc.

morality wasn’t invented from whole cloth. Without God, There would be none. Take a look at civilizations that don’t have the benefit of the Light of Christ. There’s cannibalism, human sacrifice, head hunting, etc.

Get real on this.

Was talking to one of my cousins about this today, we have one or 2 german speaking relatives left here in the states, religious people have been extremely violent in the past, and the states is no exception.  People can claim whatever truth they like, but when times get bad they get worse and worse, look at Europe.  Honestly, the stuff the pagans did was small potatoes compared to the wars of religion.

And of course the Klan on this side of the pond.

You could also argue religion does a lot of good, which it does.  It was the Church that gave us Hospitals and the University System.  In Europe outside of the major cities the church still runs the schools because they're good at it.  For all the grief they give the Church, i've yet to see anyone willing to step up and give em a run for the money.

Think it's going to get very interesting in the states very soon, white flight isn't exactly an option and the white washed Jesus of Suburbia just isn't cutting it anymore.  I've heard the same nonsense from religious people over and over again, yet I ask how many are willing to step up, be adults and follow the two fold greatest commandment?  Love thy God and love the least of these as you love me?

Very true. Brigham Young gave a fascinating sermon once about how some are drawn to the church by the attraction of power instead of a love or desire for righteousness.

Man isn't that the truth.
