Okrahomer Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 BYU-Idaho is growing...quickly. 33,747 on-campus students (under the 3-track system) and 33,627 online students: an increase of more than 5,000 students in one year. When we drove to Rexburg to deliver a niece to the campus last year, I was amazed at the on-going transformation.
Gray Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Maybe this is returned missionaries from the surge coming home and enrolling?
Calm Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Online students may be a result of the Pathways program 1

The age age went into effect Oct 2012. Give people 3 years to go on a mission and get back, that puts you at Fall 2015. Even 4 years to go on a mission and come back doesn't get you to 2017. 1
Calm Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) When did they shift to a three semester track? Having a full catalog of classes available all year would really increase numbers during summer. Edited January 17, 2017 by Calm

Having a full catalog of classes available all year would really increase numbers during summer. It was implemented in 2004. "Before the implementation in 2004, total spring enrollment was 8,287. In 2011, it had risen to 14,296." 1
halconero Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I'm curious to see what the demographics of Rexburg are like. It's not a particularly large town, and I wouldn't be surprised if students make up the vast majority of the population.
