By your logic law in general is a violation of agency as it tells me what I can and cannot do. This is a child's view of the LDS concept of agency. Agency is the power to choose and cannot be limited. That war was won in heaven and is over. Agency cannot be taken. The Most debased slave has it as much as the most powerful people who ever lived.

Freedom is what you are talking about. Freedom to do things and restrictions on freedom to do things come from our own mortal limitations and the actions of others who have power over us including governments. Good government is studying which freedoms are worth giving up in order to have greater freedoms. I trade the right to drive however I like for a decreased risk of death due to traffic rules. I give up the right to mess with other people's stuff for the right to have my stuff left alone.

Gay marriage being illegal is a question of what freedoms are allowed. It has nothing to do with agency. You are as ignorant as some of the students at BYU whi love to protest every school rule as a violation of their religion as it restricts their "agency".

I would argue that anyone with half a brain and a basic understanding of LDS doctrine would know your argument is ridiculous. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine which of the two you are lacking in. Or both maybe?

I do support religious freedom, but not religion in politics.

Imho, the foe Trump faces this election is far more anti-Mormon, in opposition to our doctrine on every conceivable level and desirous to shut us up or shut us down.
