I don't admit, never admitted I know nothing of the people or their their culture.....Besides, how does subject is relevant of what I know of or what I don't......If they were practicing cannibalism, would that be OK for you? You think highly of yourself.

We have civilized in some ways and in some ways not. We have replaced blood sports with football. When we are frightened of an enemy we no longer charge in to face them with sword in hand and steal their women and rape their horses. Instead we send flying robot death machines to kill them for us. We are kinder to children but more cruel to the elderly. We got rid of caste systems and feudalism but have choked off social mobility and many scorn the unemployed and degrade honest labor in menial jobs as not worthy of being a livable life. We abolished slavery but we ground the faces of the poor/newly free as scripture prophesied. We have people cheering at high execution rates in our nation. We preach freedom but have the highest per capita incarceration rate in recorded history (at least of those cultures we are aware of in history). We got rid of debtor's prisons but we built a system where ex-convicts are denied a society where they can find employment and respect after they are punished. We build agencies to help abused and neglected children but when that system is in a real funding crisis our legislatures argue instead about bathroom privileges for the oddballs amongst us. Both the ancients and the people of the future would be disgusted by us. My only consolation is that we often feel the same about the former and I expect would think the same of the latter.

I used your example of cannibalism so if you had read my response, you would not have made the comments you just made. Go back and read my post. I see it is you who doesn't get it....(it's OK).... "you would assume the laws to be barbaric. Because you do not understand the behavior that is being corrected, you are not qualified to judge the laws." You are telling me this. Yes I am qualified to criticize anything so horrific we find in Scriptures. Why shouldn't I? After all I'm the one end of the day who would invest his hart&soul for this...It is human nature....Even in the time of the Christ, Hebraic times of Scriptures....Romans practiced awful things, like infanticide, homosexuality (with no age restriction)...They are facts.

I find it difficult to have an intelligent conversation with you if you simply ignore what I posted. Go back and read my post about cannibalism. And sorry but you are simply not in a position to judge laws of a society you do not understand. It demonstrates your ignorance of how to understand history. Of course, you have been called out on this kind of ignorance many times before so it is like hitting a dead horse. But just for the fun of it, why don't you answer this question: would it be possible to impose 21st century laws on 12th century Japan. 1
