Apparently, anyone with an open mind can become bisexual.

Anyone can become anything for good or for evil.

Fortunately our choices and actions will be the final deciding factor in the eternities.

Yes, I realize that. But being bisexual is an orientation, even if you're not "practicing". For those of us who are more polarized on the spectrum, we're just not going to feel the same way about both sexes. We might be able to understand it intellectually but we can't experience what you feel about it. In theory I get why straight women, bisexual people and gay men might find Chris Hemsworth attractive. But I'm not sharing in the experience of feeling that attraction.

You don't have to get lustful about it, even though some people could take it that far.

You don't even need to want to have sexual relations with him.

The "orientation" is all within your own control, with you always having the power to be able to turn it on, or to turn it off.

Heck even my wife sometimes isn't in the mood to have sexual relations with me, even though she generally considers me to be sexually attractive.  And not just to her but to others as well.

I can still be quite persuasive when I really want to be, though.

I wouldn't go so far as to say we can become "anything" but we certainly can see things how they really are in reality.

To not be able to do that would be Hell to me.

Do you really think you could change what/who you find sexually attractive just by opening your mind?

I think while in mortality that conditioning has a powerful effect upon the mind.
Just look at how societies views on moral issues have changed as media and cultural norms condition each person to accept evils our parents never would.

We're talking about heaven and hell here.

You should expect to be uncomfortable about some of this stuff.

I'll take that as a yes. I wonder if you believe people are heterosexual because of conditioning.

Either way, you seem to be conflating two separate issues: sexual attraction and sexual behavior. My understanding has always been that the church considers sexual behavior between unmarried people to be sinful, but sexual desire is not sinful.

Being uncomfortable is in the eye of the beholder, or something like that.

Maybe it's within your control. But that's certainly not been my experience. I can't "turn it on" with men, although I can be oblivious to women if I try hard enough :D

I'm talking about turning on or off your own awareness of seeing someone else as being sexually attractive.  Each person turning on or off their own awareness.  Not that you can necessarily turn on or off someone else's awareness of others being sexually attractive.

And yes having a sense of humor can help. :D

My concern is that the LDS Church has taken heaven and made a hell of it.

Mormons have defined hell as a lack of progression and created a church to match the definition.

"Eternal Progression", means that we can progress in righteousness. This has nothing to do with "progressive politics" which is meant to abandon all past institutions, while moving forward and redefining them. If our Church could do as they pleased, as can other Churches (at least those with no central leadership) then it would not be any different than any others...man made. My concern is that far to many have forgotten our core doctrines and teachings, and are (to paraphrase) "those with itching ears, seeking treachers unto themselves". I am not ready to make the leap that the Churches first duty is to seek a majority opinion, instead of seeking the will of God. If I did arrive at that point, I would just leave and leave it alone. Just my 2 cents, for what it is worth.
