And the root to the word spirit is similar to wind/air/breath.What if spirit beings are simply a being of air or gas. Is that something that is possible?
longview Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 A spirit being is indestructible. If you were caught in a nuclear explosion, your physical body (clay tabernacle) will be completely atomized. But your spirit body will be unaffected because of at least two things: 1- spirit is much more finer "matter"; 2- spirit occupies different dimensions (some not in common with physical dimensions). A spirit being cannot be whiffed away or be dispersed or progressively diffused throughout the atmosphere. If you were a bag of gas, would you be intelligent? No, it would make reason stare.

All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes;We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter. D&C 131: 7-8 Somehow it is matter. the smallest particle we know of so far are quarks. Perhaps spirits are made of quarks or whatever quarks are made of.Apparently only "pure" eyes can see it. Maybe a super spiritual person can purify himself or have the Holy Ghost make him pure and sanctified enough to the point that he can receive visitations of spirits and see them. "No man hath seen God at any time in the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit of God" (D&C 67: 11) Not sure we can even use scientific reasoning to identify exactly what spirits are made of because somehow they are able to do and see and reason the same as our bodies can.
