Duncan Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I guess with anything, know your audience. If they are all pretty much members then a half hour sermon isn't great and if it's mostly non members say what the deceased believed in without being overbearing about it

His son, Elder Allen Packer of the Seventy, gave a sermon in a manner that would have pleased his father. Much teaching of the gospel in its plainness and beauty, set against a background of honoring his father. He spoke as though he were addressing President Packer's grandchildren. 3
