"When your family has been driven from Aragon, forciblymade Christians in Castile, and then hounded to MuslimGranada --- then, you can cry "persecution," Dale. And when dispossessed in Spain and fleeing to Tangier,they were not accepted in the synagogue and had towalk all the way to seek out accepting relatives in Yemen,who forgave their conversions and accepted them backinto a Jewish household --- then you can talk about bigots. And when the Turkish army conscripts you into slave laborand you must swim to a Greek island, and make your wayaround the world to find toleration --- then talk to me. You owe Mr. Schmidt an apology." She got your name wrong, but I feel she has put mythinking back into a reasonable "context" -- the sameword you used, in trying to reason with me. Her "Palestinian" grandfather made it to California andhis son married an Ashkenazi girl (whose family had gone up in smoke in the German ovens) -- and thus,my wife came to be (God bless her).
