Stone holm Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Has Heavenly Father ceased creating spirit children and worlds?
ERayR Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Has Heavenly Father ceased creating spirit children and worlds? And this is my Gory - I doubt it.
Stone holm Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 So the Millenium and the final wrap up are just for this Creation? So do subsequent or prior creations have different individuals as Christ'
ERayR Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 So the Millenium and the final wrap up are just for this Creation? So do subsequent or prior creations have different individuals as Christ' On a need to know basis, therefore undisclosed.
Stone holm Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 On a need to know basis, therefore undisclosed.Uh, that sounds a bit like a cop out.
ERayR Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Uh, that sounds a bit like a cop out. Not my words - well maybe my paraphrase but that is basically what God told Moses when he asked. Sorry gotta go so don't have time to look it up. Edited January 19, 2015 by ERayR
VideoGameJunkie Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I doubt every world needs a Christ. I heard that this is one of the worst behaved worlds God has. We are his little trouble maker children. 1
XXMikey007 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Look up the term "infinite", we are told that his atonement was an "infinite" atonement, I don't think there are any more "Christ's", or ever will be.
VideoGameJunkie Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) But our world was so bad that WE needed Christ to be born and die HERE. Edited January 19, 2015 by VideoGameJunkie 1
Freedom Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 There are worlds without number and the creation process goes on for eternity. We know how the plan of salvation was set up for this earth but we do not know anything about other worlds other than that ours is the same as other worlds. When we attain exaltation we will be given an opportunity to be part of the creation process.
Stone holm Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 It has always been my understanding that our world contained the Spirits with the greatest potential for righteousness and also the one with the greatest potential for wickedness, so Christ was sent here because we were the only ones who would crucify him.
JLHPROF Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Has Heavenly Father ceased creating spirit children and worlds? Maybe...we know that Celestialized beings (Gods) create spirit children and worlds for them to go down to aiding in their progression. But since I reject a limit to progression and D&C 130 tells us there are higher orders than Celestial, who knows what new glories and works God undertakes after his eldest spirit child has redeemed his spirit children and creations. Since I believe the Adam God doctrine it is to be presumed that our Heavenly Father (Adam) after his spirit children are resurrected will advance to Jehovah (as Brigham Young called him) or even to the presidency of a quorum of Eloheim. Progression is eternal. I believe it. God created worlds without number already. Who is to say what is next for him?
jpv Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Moses 1:38 "And as one earth shall pass away, and the heavens thereof even so shall another come; and there is no end to my works, neither to my words." 1
JAHS Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The one problem I see with God creating more spirit children (at least for our planet) is that any more created after the war in heaven and Satan was cast out are not given the opportunity to choose which plan to follow. How can they be tested to "keep their first estate" if there is no longer a choice to make between God and Satan?
thesometimesaint Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Has Heavenly Father ceased creating spirit children and worlds? No. The work will continue until all of intelligences become spirit children of God, and made their choices. Edited January 20, 2015 by thesometimesaint
JAHS Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 No. The work will continue until all of intelligences become spirit children of God, and made their choices. But like I said in post #15, with Satan and his followers gone there is no longer any choice to be made.
strappinglad Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Lather, rinse, repeat. I am of the opinion that this world is special in the sense that Satan and his followers were sent here and so was Christ. Their actions here had a ripple effect on other worlds of the same iteration.
canard78 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Look up the term "infinite", we are told that his atonement was an "infinite" atonement, I don't think there are any more "Christ's", or ever will be.Seems an interesting possibility to follow a thought-route down. So...On PlanetX people are taught that there are people living on other planets. I wonder if that is take on faith or something the secular (and perhaps unbelieving community) also accepts. PlanetX prophets teach that a man on another planet suffered and died for the sins of the people of PlanetX. Perhaps he visited the planet once or twice in person, a couple of 1000 years ago like he did to the Nephites and Lamanites. Seems a big ask for being to accept on faith alone. Or maybe it's entirely different. Maybe divine visits are regular on PlanetX. Maybe there are TV appearances (or its equivalent) and angels regularly visiting sacrament meetings. Maybe we're the only planet that are so "wicked" that we get to have very little tangible evidence of the divine at all. Or maybe the really is it. 7billion "monkeys in shoes" floating through an otherwise empty and lonely space with nothing more than oblivion to look forward to until we die. Problem with that reality is that the only way we'll ever know is when we die. Frustratingly, if it turns out to be true, it'll be too late to let anyone know.
JLHPROF Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 No. The work will continue until all of intelligences become spirit children of God, and made their choices. I disagree for several reasons: 1. I don't believe there is any end to the number of intelligences.2. I believe every God will get to create spirit bodies for intelligences, not just our Heavenly Father.3. I still think that once our Savior achieves the Celestialization of this earth that he will progress on to creations of his own. Future worlds will require future Saviors, chosen from firstborn spirits of other Gods. At least that's my opinion.

However many there are it is a really big number, but it is not infinite2. I'm fine with that, but if number # 1 is correct, there is only so many intelligences that can become spirits3. I believe the atonement was eternal for all time, for all the children of God, and for all worlds that have existed, do exist, and will exist. I always value your opinion even when I disagree. thesometimesaint Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 # 2 Why? By JLHPROF # 2. I believe every God will get to create spirit bodies for intelligences, not just our Heavenly Father.I'm fine with God create spirits out of intelligence. I'm not fine with an infinite number of intelligences. Because if the intelligences are not created nor can they be is true then there are however large only a finite number of intelligences to make spirits out of.SEE https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/93.29?lang=eng

I think they are as infinite as all the rest.
Stone holm Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 The term "infinite" is almost as slippery as the term "intelligence" or "universe". If we consider infinite to be accurately describe by such phrases as "sands of the sea", meaning beyond counting then I would agree that the number of intelligences might be "infinite". On the other hand, if we truly mean infinite meaning without limit, then I think we run into a mathematical issue if we say they have always existed and are neither made or destroyed. And of course, we don't really know for sure whether "always existed" or neither created or destroyed are also hyperbole -- for example if say the "big bang" theory is accurate (not arguing it one way or another) then it could simply mean they have existed since the big bang, or whatever process called them into being.
