VideoGameJunkie Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Church seems too long for children's attention spans, and then you have leaders who have meetings before church and some after who don't get to go home and see their family on Sundays. I guess 2 hour church could be okay. Sacrament and then Priesthood/Relief Society. Is Sunday school really necessary? Maybe it is, but I always find church long. Maybe I'm a bad person.
Deborah Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 VGJ, I've been wishing for a 2 hour block for years. Those poor little kids in Primary sit an hour in Sacrament meeting another hour in "sharing time" in Primary and then another 40 minutes in class. Speaking as a teacher I'm with the little kids. One of my little guys sitting in class dozed off sitting in his chair and almost fell over.

mfbukowski Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Time to ordain him a High Priest. Is it good etiquette to embarrass to snoring octogenarian former stake president by waking him or should we just let him snooze? One of the great moral dilemmas of the church today
Calm Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) VGJ, I've been wishing for a 2 hour block for years. One of my little guys sitting in class dozed off sitting in his chair and almost fell over.I would put a blanket on the floor and sit with the kids that way. That made snoozing easier, but prevented injuries. edit: I said "always" but removed it as that was an exaggeration as it took me awhile to think of it and sometimes I'd forget to bring it to church or have too much other stuff to carry…then there was the hyperactive kid that needed a chair to establish some boundaries so he wouldn't be attacking the other kids.
