Calm Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 My PB was a page and a half and the print was large, maybe to make it seem longer.Or maybe it was to make it easier for the Patriarch or his typist to proofread it.
Tacenda Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Or maybe it was to make it easier for the Patriarch or his typist to proofread it.True..and I wasn't making it out to be a conspiracy, just a thoughtful gesture, since it was so short.
VideoGameJunkie Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 And Valentinus I'm glad you have those items saved. I have my PB, my priesthood line of authority, and my current active temple recommend.
Duncan Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Duncan, I live in Massachusetts. aha! I don't know what the dating scene is like there but Boston is nice I hear!! or it looked nice on 'Cheers' anyways!
VideoGameJunkie Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 The dating scene in Boston is great for non member dating and LDS dating when you're in college, since I was in the University Ward, but you get kicked out of that at age 25 and then the dating scene gets rougher in the 25-30 year old ward.

VideoGameJunkie Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Yup, 25 was the cutoff. I hated that. I wish it was 31. 1
carbon dioxide Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I realize that church membership is only like 15 million out of 7 billion but if you are a member of the Church would your life be any different if you didn't have your Patriarchal blessing? I don't get why we are assigned Tribes and if one tribe is different then any other. I know a guy who is from the Tribe of Dan and he's a great guy and stuff but he's no better nor worse then anyone else, I don't see the distinction of being Ephraim as opposed to some other tribe. Honestly me knowing what tribe I come from doesn't do anything for me, I don't have visions and extra blessings that others don't seem to have. What is the added advantage of all this?Of course one can live without one. I have been a member all my life. I am 44 now and I still have not gotten one. I don't know if I ever will. It is not something that is required. I never have had a real desire to have one and I am pretty boring anyway. I am sure I would read it once and put in with all the other important documents I have that I never look at in the basement. Probably best that I don't get one.
