Church Provides Gift To New American Revolution Museum

I have to say I am intriqued by the fact that the Church is doing so much in Philadelphia. Have they done as much building in any other city outside the Wasatch front in recent history?

Does not look like it. Looks like a comparatively minor contribution (1.5 million out of 100 million raised) to help out with something neat and important.

The article reads:

 

 "The $1.5 million donation from the Church was presented to H. F. (Gerry) Lenfest, chairman of the museum, on Thursday, 24 April 2014, by Dennis C. Brimhall, president and CEO of FamilySearch International, which is affiliated with the Church."  

 

So were the funds from FamilySearch International or from the Church itself?  From what bucket did the funds derive?  This will provide an unending source for whining from those on bleached rameumptoms that demean all charitable giving unless it is directly for the poor or those who decry war museums of all kinds, American Revolution and all others being equal.
