wenglund Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I can honestly say that if I were called upon to give a talk in General Conference, there would be no sing song voice, no rising intonation, no smiling face when delivering a serious message. There would be .... a very loud silence. Glenn ...and a deer-in-the-headlights look? Thanks, -Wade Englund-
pcarthew Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Totally, totally awesome talk. Simple and powerful and crystal clear = taught by they power of the Holy Ghost,
Duncan Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) I suspect I wouldn't even manage to get to the podium but would be found puking my guts out in the bathroom...at home. seriously!!! I guess though by the time you get to be a GA or in the Auxillary Pres. speaking to large audiences is a fairly non issue? I can't say as I have never been to the building. From 2005-2009 giving a talk in church would make me wretch my guts outs but after that I was broken into it, now I am totally fine more or less. Something that helped me was a friend of mine told me just have fun with giving a talk in Church and that seemed to work for me-not that I seek opportunities to speak but it doesn't grip me with fear anymore mind you for me at least getting to the pulpit was most of the battle, once you are standing there you're fine!
