Global Baptismal Goal-Does The Church Have One?

I was wondering why does the Church not have a worldwide baptismal goal? I know in 1999 Pres. Hinckley wanted the church to double the 300,000 baptismal rate but other than that I don't recall the Church having one.

Maybe there was no revelation or counsel to override that one.

Since we haven't reached that doubling goal yet, I'm guessing there's been no new worldwide baptismal goal.

Perhaps they've rethought having number goals as it may convey the wrong idea to some people.

You make me think of the days of my mission years ago - "Stats, stats, stats, we are out for goals not for souls".  There is wisdom in learning the value of one soul rather than a number.

Eventually all will have the opportunity to receive baptism. Either in this life or the next.
