Mormons In The Middle - Conference

So Bob can state my view incorrectly, state that I said things I didn't, and then when asked to show evidence for his libel (he is a lawyer, he'll get it) he can just dissappear till the next time he wants to come after me? I thought there was a rule on this board that when one CFR's the other must show evidence for what they are saying in instances like this.

I don't recall any such claim or request for CFR. Sorry.

And I am a lawyer but I don't ever recall claiming that such gave me any particular leg up around here, except perhaps in my areas of publication.

Would you please provide for me some evidence of Why the church view

#1.) united with yours?

#2.) certainly not united with mine?

Could you provide some articles or talks from Church sources that state your view?

Also if you could specifically state where you feel I over state the doctrine, I will try and provide where I get that view from an LDS source.

Also if unable to do that, then I will just agree to disagree and we can move on and recognize that there must be room for both views as I have referenced mine already.

What does that have to do with claim that I libeled him? He doesn't claim that in your excerpt. What on earth was his claim of libel? A claim of libel is an implicit threat of litigation, and I'm sure I would have noticed such a claim. I am certainly willing to provide a response, but he's never made such a demand to me. This is supposed to be a board of like-minded believers, in the main part, and I would feel poorly that he would have thought that I have done him damage.

Apparently you don't "get it" so hopefully he will explain. I am not sure how those disagreements singled out would be considered libel either, so perhaps he meant something else...either way, he should clarify.

Why are you continually mocking Bob Crockett, Bill? Enough, already. You're not helping yourself with people who are skeptical about your podcast, Powerpoint, blog, and program by seeming to gleefully twist the knife when you think Bob "is down." I can guarantee, based on my observations of his posts in the past, that he doesn't have his tail between his legs, like you seem to be relishing.

I can only speak for the Kirtland Temple Session which was Bro. Kloosterman, myself, and KArl Ricks Anderson - It was a nice conference, But I am biased. Someone else who was there will need to share their 2 cents

I know this thread is old, but I can not only speak to the conference, but the planning behind it.

Personally, I felt the conference was phenomenal. Hearing Bishop Reel, Brother Kloosterman, and Brother Anderson speak was really a treat. I found myself looking down at the wooden slats in the temple most of the time, trying to take in the spirit of where I was and what we were doing. It was quite a moving service (for me).

Naturally, I am biased, as I said previously, I was part of the planning committee.

I came in late in the game, after Bishop Reel and others had been contacted. The original group started as a Mormon Stories conference, and after MS announced they would not be sponsoring any more conferences, we had the opportunity to run an independent conference through many of the connections the previous planners had already made.

Sunstone was planning a conference in March, and we found it advantageous to combine forces. For one, they had the experience when it came to conference planning, logistics, finances, etc. Secondly, we felt they had a large audience we could pull from not only for speakers, but for participants as well.

I also attended Rob Bowman's session as well. I did find it curious that he was asked to speak, and while he was quite critical of the First Vision, I found him to be quite respectful in his criticism.

We had about 40 people for the entire conference.
