What if the Holy Ghost is just a name that represents hosts of fairies? Personally, I think fairies make for a very reasonable explanation of how God's word is spread to all people in a practical way. A fairy is not as likely to scare children as a full-grown angel or spirit would. Fairies can become part of the rays of the sun and dance on your skin. They can sparkle on your clothes as you walk into church on a brisk Sunday morning. LDS doctrine has never precluded fairies from being in the Holy Ghost, so why not?Thanks for being understanding rather than making fun of my liberal Mormon beliefs. GNG
bluebell Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 LDS doctrine is that the Holy Ghost is a singlular personage who does not have a physical body. That would seem to preclude the idea that the Holy Ghost is actually a group of fairies. 1

Storm Rider Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 LDS doctrine states that the Holy Ghost is the third personage of the Godhead. He is the Spirit of Truth. Many of us may develop fanciful ideas about what could be in a vain effort to weave the concepts of men with the teachings of God. It is not wise to build ideas upon the fact that scripture does not specifically state that the Holy Spirit is not a fairy or a group of fairies. However, the scriptures are explicit in what the Holy Ghost is. What is the detriment to one's understanding of scripture when s/he does just accept what is written? What is the benefit of chasing after fanciful ideas that sound really cool to one's self, but conflict so completely with scripture? 1
