I am always 'relaxed', calmoriah. Peace be unto all. =)

"hypervigilant" ... um, OK.

I appreciated your previous, constructive input, calmoriah. Sincere thanks for your help.

You've seem much too confident and "relaxed" to be bothered by the chance that a word might be misspelled or something...the hypervigilance is more a commentary on some others I've observed as well as myself who desperately need things like editing power and spellcheck to avoid obsessing about whether or not one can finding hit the "post" button.

I am looking forward to your posts, not only in relating what your father has done and may do, but your own personal insights.

As someone who stumbled across this forum as a result of a google search, still only having posted less than a dozen times, obviously less intellectually gifted than some (most?) of the posters here, I have several times in just the last few days, devoured a page full of posts, went to offer my own poor insights, and found the topic locked. So why is it that so many get locked in such short order? Are there subjects that are taboo, is it solely at the discretion of the mod, or much like the stipulation that new members can only start topics in the "Social Hall", will I find with time and increasing posts that what is locked today is not locked next month to me?

Inquiring minds wanna know...

We get too carried away at times. I know I do.

I located this thread: Within ONE day, with only four posts, the threat/topic was locked.

edit [because I CAN] I suppose it could be that this topic had no additional input for days, or weeks ... since there is no time-stamp on the actual closing.

That post is from 2011, so I don't suppose many folks will remember why it was closed. Sometimes threads are closed, because there is already a thread open on the subject, that the OP might have missed.
