Judgement Day-What'S Involved?

I grew up with the idea that when we get judged by God that everyone who has ever lived will get to see what we did and that our life will be on some kind of a screen like a movie and all our thoughts and unrepented stuff will be for all to see. So is that the case or is it a more private showing?

I think that what makes it so great is that it is a very public affair, and the results are very personal.

I think it will be individual. Our own conscience will condemn us, but Christ is there to wipe away the tears.

I see it as likely being public so that everyone understands why someone ends up where they end up. I think the scriptures that discuss how our unrepented sins will be exposed support this. I think both internal and external behaviour to provide total context of our choices will be involved. I see this as just because our sins have an impact on everyone even if they are ones that simply directly affected ourselves because they limit what we might have been and done for others. I see it as merciful because then there is no need for secrets or acting as if we are different than we really are.

I also believe those sins and behaviours and attitudes which we have repented of will be absent from this recital of our lives, truly forgotten and erased as if they had never been through our acceptance of the Atonement. There will be no shame or guilt for those who have become one with God to be open in this way to all, so no need for privacy. For those who do not repent, they have made a choice of desiring to hold on to the sin over what others think anyway, so I don't see privacy as an issue here either.

I think it quite possible that this level of openness occurs for many prior to the judgment in order to allow a complete sharing of mortal experience so that all can receive the full lessons of mortality even though no one can experience all in their lifetime themselves (especially those that died young). I see a full experience as being required for a full understanding which is required for a fully informed choice of one's eternal preferences.

I think the results will be very unexpected for many people.

Some who say "Lord, Lord," will be turned away for further refining.

Others will look confused and say, "When saw we thee an hungred?" and will be ushered in.
