KevinG Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I'm an engineer and for me, the efficient use of space is a beautiful thing. I worked in the Tanner building and while nice, a complete waste of resources. It annoyed me.I studied there for a couple of years. It struck me as a convenient staircase to get up the hill to campus with some classrooms stuck on the sides.

This should not negate that at times, simple straight-forward structures is all that can be done, but when we can afford the truly wonderful, then let us do so.

From the mouths of babes.BernardWhat does beautiful buildings have to do with teh EMP? I know it well; it is in my home town of 30 years. It is not what I would have chosen to build. Funny thing; they tore down a building made out of concrete that was the same type of structure as the EMP, just smaller. Of all that could be built beautiful, we still build most often the common or the outlandish. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but there is no need to seek the beauty seen in the eyes of the fewest people.
