Yes, we both believe the "essential parts", the difference is, yours come from a book of fictional locations that you cannot even show on a map while mine come from a book of verified locations and events.I'm still unimpressed. You're essentially saying, that e.g. the Odyssey is more valid than the Lord of the Rings because it mentions real places. That doesn't change the fact that both are works of fiction (and maybe even inspired fiction). Here's a pat on the back for the Bible being ever so slightly less mythical than the Book of Mormon.

MAsh Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 When I was a child, I would spend time at my grandparents house. In their basement they had this great wood grain paneling which I would stare it. It was cut with some funky wood that showed lots of interesting patterns. The longer I stared at it, the more patterns would emerge. And once I started seeing a particular kind of pattern more of that kind would follow. So if I started seeing faces, I would see lots of faces. If I started seeing animals, I would see lots of animals.I think this says more about me than the stylish wall coverings.Pareidolia.

The ancient city of 'troy' was discovered because a man from germany took homer's text and went out and started digging, just like much of the bible archeology has been discovered.

How did you come up with a statement they it did not claim to be true? Did you think those people prayed to the gods for fun?
