I went looking through the new Handbook and couldn't find anything. I know that guests who participate in Sacrament meeting are to be approved by their Bishop first. Garden Girl Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Some of my fondest memories as a teenager, c. 1954-58, were of going to "fireside" every week after sacrament meeting... which in those days was held in the evening, usually finishing by 7:00 P.M. Then all the young men/women would go over to someone's home where we would have about a half-hour+ program, usually a spiritual talk, followed by refreshments. That's why it was called fireside, because of gathering in a home by the "hearth" so to speak. I don't think it is done today, at least not the way we did, for the young people, weekly in members' homes with refreshments. Thanks for the memory... (I did have a wonderful "Happy Days" type of teen years including a terrific group of young people at Church)from the beach on a cool, fall evening...GG
