I would also like to respond to the OP, that this is why I've never visited the anti-Mo sites that others seem to like. I just don't want all that negativity in my life. You'd think if people were really happy where they are they wouldn't start complaining to an anonymous group about how miserable they are because of what they perceive as being misled, deceived, short-changed, or whatever. Move on. That's why I like Mudcat. He isn't of our faith but he shares his faith and I often find myself in agreement with him.

What is funny, is that as I was reading your post and Calmoriah's......

If someone is investing personal time to attack someone else or is trying to sabotage someone else's faith, there is most definitely something they are struggling with...though quite possibly it has nothing to do with what they are currently complaining about.

Bold mine on both counts.... I realized I actually fit those categories at times.

We are all complaining children. I don't know how Heavenly Father puts up with us- other than by knowing that we are all babies, crying and squabbling with each other continuously, he loves us anyway.

This life is just Nursery- some of us make it to Sunbeams, others just stay in Nursery forever.

If this is just nursery, maybe we just can play "popcorn popping on the apricot tree" to bring down the complaining.

Madsen in his Joseph Smith series from the 90's states that a woman went to Joseph Smith and complained of the rumors she was hearing about herself, Joseph Smith response was essentially, that he when he hears something about himself from others, he tries to think if there is anything he did that might give some truth to the rumor.

P.S.I want to share with all of you something very quick. My husband and I and our son (he was 12 at that time) were baptized the same day 7 years ago. My husband is from El Salvador. I am from Ukraine but we met in Los Angeles. We also have 11 year old daugter and 3 year old son. Our oldest is in Mexico on his mission. It 's been 4 months already. But what is the greatest thing is that my 73 year old mother came to live with us 2 years ago and 10 days ago she was baptized. I can't beleive it. She told me many times she doesn't want to join any church. But after she met people from my ward, had discussions with missionaries she made her decision and she is so good like she was a member all her life.

We also were so blessed that in our ward there is one sister who became our dear friend. She organised our trip to Salt Lake City last october and we could attend General Conference. She is grand daughter of Cleon Skausen. And it was so interesting that I liked a book that was written by her uncle "Earth in the beginning" and I knew about Lehi dig in Israel before I met her. And I love "Sisters in Zion" that was written by her great-great-great(whatever) aunt.

I believe we were best bodies before we came here. And we love to discuss Gospel and all this stuff during our Temple trips every last Tuesday of the month.

Sorry, I am very emotional, but I love to share my testimony with people, I love to share spriritual things. I feel bad that I didn't have an opportunity to be a full time missionary.

Never apologize for your testimony.

Loved hearing your story thanks for sharing. Also know that you can always be a missionary. Wherever you go you can be that example and do missionary work for our brothers and sisters are everywhere in this world even if it is at the grocery store or gas station.

It is very disappointing to see people say "Well Jesus called names, so I can too." It is a terribly shortsighted way of thinking. Jesus had a perfect knowledge of the heart and mind of the people he rebuked. It is very troubling to see people try and place their pedestal on the same level and next to Jesus.

i suppose the same passage, principle and treatment should be given to those who misrepresent - via unauthorized labels - the Doctrine of the Church and mingle their own philosophy with the Doctrine of the Church.

I am still young, but I almost feel I developed this intolerance in the pre-earth life when countless "sat on the fence" and I am not too optimistic that it will ever change in this life.

I would say the better word for what you are describing as "intolerance" is "impatience," and I think you've gotten good advice on developing patience through charity.

how is asking a question mixing my own philosophy with the Doctrine of the Church. I asked a question as to how applicable another see the scriptures. The question goes to the extent how far reaching that person personal interpretation is.
