Thought I would share a funny

Just laughed my tail off, not literally speaking of course.

Our youngest, Jon Christian, near two years old, got me chuckling.

We all prayed together, before we went to bed tonight. Me, Mrs. Mudcat, our 10 year old boy, 8 year old girl and the young Jon Christian were in a bit of a group hug. I led it tonight, and though can't quite recall my words specifically, I mentioned Christ providing opportunity to "Save us". I didn't get much further before the young Jon Christian said, "shave us."

It is funny when you get a group chuckle, that occurs in a group hug. Jon Christian, realized what he said was funny and as I most seriously continued onwards in prayer he played on his past words but with more volume. "Shave us!","Shave Us!", "SHAVE US!" with each interjection the prayer fell into a shaking respectful mass until just totally fell apart into a big ball of people laughing together.

I don't imagine heaven is simply a big ball of people laughing together, however I do hope we get that once in a while. It's fun.

I think you got it right! family is what its all about; should we mock the lord so to speak? absolutely not! "but" sometimes a situation such as you desceibe might just be what the lord wants for your family...:P

That's hilarious. My kids were just laughing at the name "Dorcas" as we read a chapter in Acts tonight. Sounds like "Dorkus", at least the way I read it.

Great name BTW.

Thanks, it was a toss up between Jon Christian and Jon Dorcas. We finally flipped a quarter over it.

I love the name Christian...almost used it. But I named my sons Joshua and Caleb, hows your OT knowledge? Do you know why?

What a wonderful, mirthful moment for you and Mrs. M to share with your children... these are the things that tend to draw the family closer.

BTW... I'm glad the coin toss resulted in Jon Christian vs Jon Dorcus... I fear he would have had difficulty with the "Dorcus" part from other youngsters as he grew older.

Love it.

This happens in our family from time to time also. My third child likes to make this especially serious face when we are preparing to pray. Only his attempts at somber come out looking kind of like a pensive Dr. Evil which brings the house down even before we get started.

That is so funny. The kids will remember it. I remember giving my son a blessing I wanted to say "increase your faith" and I ended up saying "increase your face" We as a family busted out laughing had to apologize to the Lord later but I am sure he might have been laughing too. We all need shaving.

Oh, I know that one. They were the two that weren't afraid of the giants, and everyone else was. Then everyone else died over the course of 40 years in the desert, but Joshua and Caleb entered the land because of their faith.
