The Spirit and Crying

I know I saw it mentioned in a talk that crying doesn't indicate that a person is feeling the Spirit (and lack of crying doesn't mean a person isn't feeling the Spirit). I've done a lot of searches and can't find it. Anyone know which one I'm talking about and have a link?

Thanks!

Thank you! I think that was it! :P Being someone who rarely cries, I really appreciated that.

OTOH, as someone who cries in Disney movies (yes, I said Disney) I have always understood that tears no not always mean a spiritual manifestation is happening.

I'm glad Doctrine612 was able to help you out. I would only have been able to help you with a song, and I'm not sure it's entirely on point. (I was all right for a while...)

:P

Dumbo made you bawl, didn't it? You know, the part where he's cradled in his mom's trunk .....

Having your tears connected to your emotion 'bone' really sucks sometimes. I cry whenever i feel a strong emotion, regardless of what emotion it is. It's not only embarrassing but it's really hard to be mad and try to tell anyone off when you are also trying not to bawl. :P

I've heard so many people start to get weepy before they even really start in with their testimony. I think it almost never has anything to do with the Spirit, but rather a manifestation of people being nervous and/or upset about something they're about to relate to the ward. Some people are just natural criers. I've never done it - not in church, anyway.
