Catherine Aurelia Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Regarding commentary, you referenced SK's comments over on CARM, and followed with commentary of your own:He's since apologized, and you accepted it. That was over 20 minutes ago. Do you intend to mention that over at CARM, or are you just going to let the statement sit there and fester in everyone's minds? If so, I find that a terribly dishonest and manipulative thing to do. If you truly accepted the apology, then I think it's incumbent upon you to make that know to those with whom you shared the comment in an effort to enrage.I believe that that kind of outburst is motivated by the enemy - and I, likewise, believe that attempting to attribute to Eve the words of some pagan mother goddess emanates from the same place. However, I will point out on CARM that the person has apologized - you should take a lesson from SK, considering some of the puffed up rhetoric that has come out of your mouth - as I recall, you called one CARM poster who is currently disabled a demeaning name when he came in late to the discussion. Practice what you preach.
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 No problem, Silver Knight. I've done my share of getting angry on apologetics boards, myself. Was it "demonically inspired" in those instances as well?
Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 No, I believe we must continue to ask for forgiveness, but that Christ's Blood continually cleanses us from all sin, as John states. To some extent then you seem to be not of the mainstream evangelica doctrine. I have been told repeatly taht all I need to do is beleive and I will be saved. And once I am saved I cannot fall from grace. But I am glad we can agree on this. I tire of the disagreements.Well, mola, it's the definition of words that separates us. But, I pray you'll be in Christ's Kingdom when He returns, I really do.I guess you could call it a "defintion" if you want to. And what thoughtful thing to say. I could use all the prayers I can get. But as long as I endure ot the end in my faith in Christ I worry not.

Doctor Steuss Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I believe that that kind of outburst is motivated by the enemy [...]HI Catherine,I'm sorry that you've had your share of being motivated by the enemy. Hopefully you are able to overcome it one day (maybe you should get to know the Biblical Jesus?).You can do it,Stu
alter idem Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Do you have a link? What was the demeaning name, what is the disability, and did Mak know about the disability?I don't know if this board wants links to CARM. Before asking a poster to supply it, you might check the guidelines.

Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 And what thoughtful thing to say. I could use all the prayers I can get. That's a very reasonable attitude to take. Would that those outside of Mormonism would have a comparably reasonable attitude pertaining to LDS efforts pursuant to salvation for others, including the deceased (see my sig line).
Catherine Aurelia Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Well, I think this topic has about worn itself out. To use a word from the Book of Mormon, "adieu."
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I don't know if this board wants links to CARM. Before asking a poster to supply it, you might check the guidelines.I didn't know she had reference to something on CARM. I thought it might have been a post on this thread.I still think I'm entitled to answers to my questions.

Practice what you preach. The reluctant apology with a backhand thrown in to boot. How Christian.I have a long history with that poster, and he was being quite denigrating in that single post he aimed in my direction without having read any of the previous posts (and his disability is irrelevant).
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Well, I think this topic has about worn itself out. To use a word from the Book of Mormon, "adieu."Yes, I think that's another topic on which you got your clock cleaned when you were here previously (assuming you are Carmella).By the way, do you intend to answer my questions before leaving? For the record, I think that ("adieu" in the Book of Mormon) is about the dumbest argument in the entire anti-Mormon catalog.
alter idem Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I didn't know she had reference to something on CARM. I thought it might have been a post on this thread.I still think I'm entitled to answers to my questions. If they don't violate this board's guidelines. However, I think most have just gone over to CARM to read what they want to read there, rather than asking anyone to cross post. And, hopefully, this thread is done. Frankly, it should have been over when we figured out it was all a 'tempest in a teapot'.
maklelan Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Do you have a link? What was the demeaning name, what is the disability, and did Mak know about the disability?A poster came in swinging at me halfway through a thread. I asked him to get caught up on his own and said I wasn't going to do a recap for "every schmeckel that comes in late in the game." I knew about no disability (it's evidently temporary), but it's really irrelevant.
SlackTime Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Yes, I think that's another topic on which you got your clock cleaned when you were here previously (assuming you are Carmella).By the way, do you intend to answer my questions before leaving?I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The poster responded several times to the Carmella name and never said it didn't belong so, I'd tend to believe it was Carmella. I'm sure the mods will deal with it in any case.- SlackTime
Doctor Steuss Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Well, I think this topic has about worn itself out. To use a word from the Book of Mormon, "adieu."Hi Catherine,Good call on calling it quits. I just don't think those poor Mormons can take any more, with your use of multiple up-to-date respected scholarly sources. You definitely came over here, and gave them some comeuppance. Thanks for visiting, and for the awesome demonstrations of reading comprehension (man, your study of the Bible must be awesome). To use a word from the Bible,
SilverKnight Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I guess Carmella got what she wanted (from me):Mormons who resort to the same type of ugly vitriol she does on a daily basis are possessed by demons. And hyperbolic statements about her past track-record of twisting the truth are evidence mormons inability to defend their own heresy.
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The reluctant apology with a backhand thrown in to boot. How Christian.I have a long history with that poster, and he was being quite denigrating in that single post he aimed in my direction without having read any of the previous posts (and his disability is irrelevant). So do I understand that you were provoked (as opposed merely to being "demonically inspired")?

WalkerW Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Well, I think this topic has about worn itself out. To use a word from the Book of Mormon, "adieu."By all means, excuse yourself without1. Answering if you are Athanasius? (which you are)2. Providing the names of all these supposed scholars (with the exception of one outdated one)3. Dealing with the arguments presented by MakAnd ending with an allusion to the idiotic anti-Mormon argument of a French word in the English translation of the BoM.Classy.
Doctor Steuss Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 What? The Bible uses a French word? What a faith-shaker that is!Hi Scott,I'm sorry I have shaken your faith in the Bible. I imagine you could just eject Luke 9:61, and 2 Corinthians 2:13 from your Bible, and you should be ok.(Emergency averted)
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 If they don't violate this board's guidelines. The questions I asked did not call for a violation of board guidelines. To reiterate, I didn't know the "demeaning name" had reference to a thread on the other board. I thought it was something earlier in this thread. However, I think most have just gone over to CARM to read what they want to read there, rather than asking anyone to cross post.Again, I wasn't asking anyone to cross post (see above). I've never visited CARM, and I don't have any desire to do so, least wise to poke around over there to find answers to questions that could easily be responded to here. Are you a moderator?
Scott Lloyd Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. maklelan Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 So do I understand that you were provoked (as opposed merely to being "demonically inspired")?I was provoked, but I had been dealing with BrianH (the "Alexander the Great was a GREEK!" guy), and so I was pretty irritated. I don't know why I go back there at all.
