kawikadave Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 It kind of reminds me of the time I went to help clean a little old LDS lady's house and I found a big bottle of brandy hiding behind the pine sol!Ah, she was probably using the brandy as an old timey stain or gum remover, like Goo-Gone. I think Consig didn't return the book because he wanted to keep it for himself. Who says a manly man can't enjoy one of those "bodice buster" books?
Yirgacheffe Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 If you're looking for dimensions, then no.Well it was in response to the enlarged bosom post, so while I figured that you didn't mean dimensions, I just wanted it clear. It seems with all the enlargement focus these days (lots of icky email) we are turning away from perfect (or meaningful) sexuality.

emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I see Bat-Man isn't the only one with a Freudian slip. Maybe....or maybe it was a subtle joke about polygamy? Guess you will never know. What is the title of the book?Amber and Iron by Margaret Weis. It is Vol 2 of The Dark Disciple series by Dragonlance. Not the best I have ever read, but decent.

I might have to look into it as soon as I'm done with the 13 book series I'm in now (I'm in book 3).So far, but I am only on book two. The gods are my favorites because they are all these egotistical tyrants basically who toy with people. They do have these weird vampire type people in them that are pretty cool. The god of the dead created them to make his army only he can't seem to get them to do anything he wants. How can you handle that? I hate long series. I usually burn out around book 3 or 4 as I can only stand the same writing style that long. I think RA Salvatore was the only one I could read more than 5 of and even with him I burned out before I finished the whole series (and evidentally missed a ton of good stuff in some of the later books).(What are you reading? Any good?)

I know I would have gone mad trying to coordinate 13 authors trying to tell a larger story but they've pulled it off pretty well so far.

The Nehor Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 That sounds interesting. Might have to check it out. Thanks! It's old, you'll have trouble finding it. I had to hunt on Amazon and get them used.
emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 It's old, you'll have trouble finding it. I had to hunt on Amazon and get them used. That isn't good. I was hoping it would be in one of our local libraries. My library has a really crappy sci fi/fantasy section so it probably isn't there. But maybe some of the used book stores might. Never know.

MorningStar Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 A number of years ago, I loaned a hardback church book to a fellow member, a 60-something year old lady named Diana. She was very nice and a teacher of the gospel doctrine class.Well, time went by and she didn't get around to returning the book, so my wife mentioned it to her.She came over to our house right away and returned the book . . .. . . only it wasn't the book she had borrowed. It had the same plastic slip-on cover as the book she had borrowed, but when my wife opened it up, the actual book inside was a steamy sex novel. We had a good laugh imagining why this sister would do this.I bring it up just to see if anybody thinks this story provides insights into the subject of Mormons and sexuality.(And because it's pretty funny!)All the Best!--ConsiglieriMaybe she was playing the ultimate joke on you?
thesometimesaint Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Many moons ago I tried to read a "Bodice Ripper" novel. Found it so silly that I just gave it away.
consiglieri Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 Maybe she was playing the ultimate joke on you? In that case, she got what she deserved when I reported her to the bishop.
emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Dear Emeliza,As you live in Ohio, shouldn't you be busy registering second-graders to vote?I don't live in Ohio. I live in Iowa. Here we are going after the kindergartners instead (easier to sway).

consiglieri Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 I don't live in Ohio. I live in Iowa. Here we are going after the kindergartners instead (easier to sway). My apologies. You have no idea how often I confuse the two. Kind of like Michigan and Minnesota. It's all mid-West.All I want is a plain man; all I want is a modest man; a quiet man, a gentle man, a straight forward and honest man to sit with me in a cottage somewhere in the state of Iowa. And I would like him to be more interested in me than he is in himself. And more interested in us than in me. All the Best!--Consiglieri
emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Yeah, my love of older books made Amazon my best friend.Yeah, I use Amazon a lot myself. But when I realized my book collection was outgrowing my home, I had to start going back to the library.
thesometimesaint Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 With a Granddaughter fast approaching when she can vote, all I can say is I was never that young.
The Nehor Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Yeah, I use Amazon a lot myself. But when I realized my book collection was outgrowing my home, I had to start going back to the library. I just bought more bookshelves and decided that the space underneath my bedroom endtable was just wasted space unless I filled it with books.
Bill “Papa” Lee Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Are you not aware of the 11th commandment?"Thou shalt not lend a Mormon a book, if you ever want to see it again"I would think a scriptorian like yourself would know this...
emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I just bought more bookshelves and decided that the space underneath my bedroom endtable was just wasted space unless I filled it with books.I gave everything I didn't deem readable again to Goodwill and am nowadays only keeping books that I really like, but even then I think I have 6 book cases. That is plenty isn't it? Consig~How do you get Michigan and Minnesota mixed up? Minnesota is awesome. Michigan is just okay (no offense to posters living in Michigan). Thanks for the lil poem though. What movie does that come from?

What movie does that come from?Only the best musical ever written; and it takes place in your home state!I'll give you a hint. It's not "State Fair."Though it is a grand night for singing. All the Best!--Consiglieri

Don't I know it? Every time I lend out a book now I accept that I will never see it again or it will be trashed. Mormons have no respect. emeliza Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Nope, if you need more then the couch has to go. Priorities must be in the proper order. No way will the couch be going. I need it to lay on while I read. Plus I have one of those ultra comfy couches that is almost as wide as a twin bed and really pillowy.
