Like this third one, these were done at their request, not at my initiative. The amounts I earned from these two were so paltry that, to be candid, I can't even remember what they came to. Less than $100, it seems to me. (I could be wrong, though. The proceeds haven't been very impressive. My wife would know.)Where does the $15.95 (or whatever the price for this one is) actually go? I couldn't tell. I don't know. I don't even know what percentage of it they figure as my royalty. I really couldn't care less. I must have a copy of the contract somewhere.But I can guarantee that not a cent of it will go into my account in the Cayman Islands. Eventually, I will retire in lavish style to the palatial mudbrick home that I'm building in rural Swaziland -- where, I'm told, a former Mopologist can live like a sultan on beans and rice and impure water. But that won't be on the basis of this particular CD.Nonetheless, my Malevolent Stalker has now triumphantly revealed me to be a liar!!!, for claiming -- although, in fact, I've never claimed it -- to never have received so much as a cent for anything related in any way to Mormon apologetics.Sigh.Actually, it's not really all that funny. (He recently estimated my apologetics-generated income as being in the mid-six-figures U.S., paid to me by the Church itself!)That absurdly false claim, however, hasn't proved very plausible, so he's shifted his angle of attack. Now, I'm said to have dishonestly denied having ever earned a nickel from anything even remotely related to apologetics -- a denial I've never made, and one that would in any event be easily demonstrated false. Or, alternatively, I'm said to have been playing sophistical wordgames when, in answer to persistent insinuations from critics (including, naturally, my implacable and obsessive Malevolent Stalker), I've noted, quite accurately, that not a cent of my salary is given to me for apologetic writing or speaking, and that if I never spoke or wrote another apologetic word, my salary would not be decreased by so much as a dime. I've never denied for a moment that, every once in a while (i.e., not even every year), I've received $50-100 for an article, or that, once thus far, I earned a similarly princely sum from a pair of lectures that were recorded and released on CD. Ironically, in view of what my Malevolent Stalker and his allies often say about LDS apologetics, their conclusion is predetermined. The only question regards what specific combination of tortured facts, pseudo-facts, mind-reading, malignant distortion, logical leaping, and sheer slanderous fantasy they'll be obliged to cobble together in order to reach it.
