Russian and Ukrainian missionaries visited the other day.

I had a knock on my door the other day and rarely open the door to strangers. But these two wouldn't leave the doorstep, they knocked really hard a few times, quite loudly. I then looked out my window and spoke through the closed window and then felt safe enough to open the door, my app for the Ring doorbell wasn't active. Then I got a little shook because their missionary tags were in another language so then I got nervous. But they spoke English and they said they wanted to meet the person with a Ukrainian flag in their yard. I have had it up for quite some time. And proceeded to tell me, after I embarrassed myself when I said I supported the Ukrainians and not Russia, told me one was from Russia and the other from Ukraine! They were wondering if I was from Ukraine, I probably disappointed them when I told them no, but that I supported Ukraine. They were very nice, didn't ask me if I was a member or if I wanted to hear a message, nothing! But I did say something like they're welcome to come back or if they needed something, can't remember now. So the first time I've heard of church wards like that in the county I live in. Very interesting, thought I'd share for fun.

I would have been so curious about how they get along together given what is happening and the potential risks for each of them.   I'd be curious about how they got excused from war duty and whether they can even speak of that.

Although there countries are at war, maybe these two are level headed enough to think outside the box so to speak, and are able to get along. Possibly as a result of being missionaries in another European country, or some other reason, their journey as brought them to the USA.

rpn, I wish I had the forethought on that, great questions!

There were a lot of Russian and Ukrainian young men who left their countries as the war started, in order to avoid being called into military service. These two might be such.
