“You have had the use of the Endowment House for a number of years,” the Signers said to him, “and yet nothing has ever been done for us.” Spoken like true politicians! :D

Have you seen this (and how fussy are you about reliability?): Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings baptized, married by Mormon church (yahoo.com)

If you go to FamilySearch for his page (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L7RV-G3V) and look at the ordinance section, it says:

Quote

These people do not have a couple relationship but are the parents of a child. If they were married or lived together as husband and wife, add a couple relationship to link them as spouses, so that you can request the sealing. If they were never married or never lived together as husband and wife, do not have them sealed.

So, if it was done, it appears it was on a different record.

That vision has always been a little suspect since some of them already had their work done.

As for Sally and Thomas, the Church wouldn't have done it at that time pre 1978.

Also, doesn't it set kind of a bad precedent if we start sealing people to their mistresses?  Or would we consider her as having concubine status?  Common law wife?
