rongo Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 My daughter is in home MTC, scheduled to fly to the England MTC in a little over another week before leaving for Germany/Austria/Switzerland. When home MTC started on Monday, they were told that the England MTC follows whatever the Provo MTC policy is. They were told yesterday by the MTC president himself (the whole district on Zoom) that it looks like they won't have to wear masks at all at the MTC when they get there (they are ecstatic). Anyone know if this mirrors Provo, or it is more due to England's loosening of restrictions?

I just got a message from the church's travel department wanting me to call them back about my son's passport, but it was cutting out so badly that there is no way to actually return their call (the number they called on is just a recording). So that's fun. 1

So that's fun. A passport to go to Mexico for four weeks. Hopefully, Mexico's requirements aren't too onerous, and there is a good agreement between the Church/the U.S. and Mexico for the MTC. My daughter has a document to give to British immigration that spells out her "fact finding mission" in England (it lays out that this is the best way to classify her visit, and spells out what fact-finding activities --- about learning about conducting missionary work --- she will do while there. It also gives surety that the Church guarantees her financial situation while there. ). I doubt Mexico is that way about it. I wouldn't be surprised if Mexico is much more resistant to stopping wearing masks. Or Provo, given that the Church doesn't appear anywhere near ready for that, officially.

I don't think he has to have one, but they need to know if he does or not. It wasn't something on his list of things to do but he got one anyway, just in case. He doesn't need a visa at least.

What is a fact-finding mission for a full time missionary? Will she not be proselyting or doing church work? Or does England not have a designation for those types of activities
