Tara Westover, Educated: A Memoir (Random House, 2018).

Tara Westover was born in Idaho in 1986. She received her BA from Brigham Young University in 2008 and was subsequently awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. She earned an MPhil from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 2009, and in 2010 was a visiting fellow at Harvard University. She returned to Cambridge, where she was awarded a PhD in history in 2014. Educated is her first book.

It's on my shelf, thanks to my niece that sent it. But I had listened to the book on audible already. I wonder what Tara is up to these days.

I’m so deeply curious about this family.  What ever happened to Emily (the sister in law in the abusive marriage) and is she safe?  The parents deny everything.  They are hugely successful with a large support network.  Mom just self published a reply book called Educating (hmmm) which is ill received and apparently poorly written.

Also this family represents what seemed to me to be partial activity but extreme zealousness at the same time. I may be incorrect about the activity but that was my impression .
