grapevine Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Who has heard of the website called Mormon Chronicles? Someone who used the pseudonym Ezra Taylor once posted over there and was on Facebook. I don’t see his Facebook profile up anymore. But they have several articles. Mostly about Health and Education. Fond of quoting H Verona Andersen and Ezra Taft Benson. Bring up the Samuel Principle and say the Lord let’s the matter drop and we already have. Some things they say, it is wrong to vaccinate and parents that send kids to public schools could take them away from Celestial Kingdom. Times ok not to obey the law of the land. recent blogs are saying we yielded to pressure to give blacks priesthood and abandon polygamy. Wilford Woodruff did that and Jacob do to peoples wickedness. And giving blacks priesthood same category as lost manuscript. Yielded to pressure. recent blog if we followed prophet now would excommunicate Joseph Smith. Prophets don’t contradict former prophets. Seem to criticize the fourteen fundamental talk. Cherry picking to gain following. Don’t know any of there names. Lord will not tell someone people he called is wrong. Need administrative revelation for day to day things. Doctrine and Covenants 42:11 and 28 rail on those people. If leaders saw what they said could easily lose temple recommend and membership in church possibly. like Protestants whose idea of dead prophets is what they think as church members.
JLHPROF Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 (edited) Sounds like a standard issue fundamentalist, not a member with a membership to lose. ETA judging from their recommended book list definitely a fundamentalist. Edited December 24, 2020 by JLHPROF

I'm pretty familiar with this website and have read most of their posts. This site is not to be confused with "Mormon Chronicle," which is an anti-Mormon site. They do have some fundamentalist type posts, particularly recently, but overall their posts are supportive of the church from a very conservative perspective. They generally believe that the church is true and that the keys remain with the church, but that "all is not well in Zion. Traditionally they are very supportive of the teachings of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and Ezra Taft Benson. They are anti-vaxxers. The main reason they are against vaccination is because some vaccines use aborted (murdered) baby parts. Their last two posts appear to be a copy and paste of a paper written by an anonymous fundamentalist, from the 1980s. The paper reflects a very fundamentalist bias. My guess is that it was written by one of Robert Crossfield's associates. The critique of Elder Benson's 14 fundamentals talk is really not a big deal. As far as I'm aware, President Kimball was critical of this talk, too, and made Elder Benson apologize for giving it, because it was too over the top. They are right that if Joseph Smith were a common member of the church today, who secretly engaged in plural marriage he would be excommunicated as just another fundamentalist wacko. If he openly taught that blacks were under a curse or that Adam fell with his creations, like he did during his lifetime, he would be exed, too (especially back in the 1980s when the church wasn't as tolerant of diverse opinions).
