It was in his home that I had one of the most powerful manifestations of the Spirit of my mission. During one discussion he asked what were our beliefs about Jesus. After a short conversation we read D&C 76... At that moment, the Holy Spirit entered the room like a cool gentle breeze and bore testimony to us that this event really happened. The three of us tearfully acknowledged that we knew this was true. This is one of the foundation stones of my testimony................................ Yeh. You can't plan those things. They just happen. I recall one day at the Visitor's Center at the L.A. Temple, I had come to see a new Joseph Smith movie, and I had heard plenty of people bear their testimony before. However, on that occasion, a small Filipina Sister Villaverde from Manila bore a very brief testimony just before the movie began. The Holy Spirit and tears came instantly. Caught me by surprise, and I was glad that it was dimly lit in that room. I didn't know that Sister's name at the time, but, months later, I was at a meeting of the L.A. Mission and was asked to bear my testimony. I recalled that event for them. Afterward, the Mission Pres got up and commented that he and his wife had just put Sister Villaverde on a plane to Manila that morning at LAX. He said she cried and didn't want to go home. 4

That is beautiful. I can't remember a time that I "planned" to get a "spiritual experience." In my life, the Spirit has come and gone as He wishes. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
