CA Steve Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) I apologize for the late notice here. Usually I keep better track of who is speaking at Benchmark in case I can attend, but tonight Wed Jan 8, 2020 Don Bradley will be speaking at Benchmark Books in SLC starting at 5:30 PM for book signing and speaking at 6:00 PM on his newly release book The Lost 116 Pages: Reconstructing the Book of Mormon's Missing Stories. Seating is very limited there and they ask for people who are attending to RSVP. See Benchmark Books for a link to their website. On the left side is an announcement and a link to a Facebook page where you can RSVP. Hopefully they still have room. Their address is: 3269 South Main St–Suite 250 Salt Lake City UT 84115 They are located on the east side of Main Street, directly North of McDonald’s on the second floor. For some reason the forum would not let me capitalize anything but "Don" in the thread title. Edited January 8, 2020 by CA Steve 2
Jeanne Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Why would anyone have to reconstruct the most truthful full gospel in a perfect book?
Calm Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) It is the part that was lost that Don reconstructs, not what we already have. From the link: Quote On a summer day in 1828, Book of Mormon scribe and witness Martin Harris was emptying drawers, upending furniture, and ripping apart mattresses as he desperately looked for a stack of papers he had sworn to God to protect. Those pages containing the only copy of the first three months of Joseph Smith’s translation of the golden plates were forever lost, and the detailed stories they held forgotten over the ensuing years—until now. In this highly anticipated work, author Don Bradley presents over a decade of historical and scriptural research to not only tell the story of the lost pages but to reconstruct many of the detailed stories written on them. Tacenda Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 This is a compelling discussion with Don Bradley on Gospel Tangents... More than 116 Pages Lost? (Part 4 of 7) Don mentions that the 116 pages are more likely to have been many more, possibly 200 pages. Maybe he'll bring these up, I hope to attend, but it's probably not going to happen, but I wish! https://gospeltangents.com/
