Well, there's the problem. he's wanting to see people come together no matter if they agree or not and embrace a love towards each other. You reject that option because, says you, you feel forced to choose between fellowship and discipleship if someone shows up and thinks they can be gay and Mormon. That's a hard position to speak to for sure. I figured at the very bottom we can agree that everyone should be made to feel welcome and we shouldn't be quick to decide between fellowship and discipleship because discipleship is nothing more than fellowship. The discipleship doesn't come close to what Jesus has taught...IMO.

provoman Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I believe this was brought in the other thread, but I so not see the counsel of “listening” ss having worship time bogarted with shame the LDS people for their beliefs or for making baseless accusations against the Church. I also question the motive of the meeting. One of the speaker stated to effect that he looks forward to day when our Church buildings have signs that read “All are welcome” rather than “Visitors Welcome”. “All are welcome” on Church signs is usually accompanied with a rainbow flag. Also in the talks given there was not much - if any - discussion of adhering to our Doctrines on marriage AND simultaneously loving our neighbors. 2
