Rain Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I will be subbing in the 16-17yo old SS class on Sunday. It is on church councils. I would like to start with a council of sorts. Perhaps have some sort of puzzle/game for the whole group to do. Something where I can listen to each viewpoint of how we should go about it. Something that unifies them as they work together. Have you seen any game or puzzle etc that might fit this?

Rain, my husband might do something similar in his work (he has college and hs kids start businesses in groups and does group bonding/working together exercises). I will try and remember to ask him tomorrow...tonight if he doesn't have the class as I think last week was the last one. Remind me if I don't say anything.

I appreciate you replying to me. I am looking more for a game or an activity though. I'd like to start the class off with it and then go into the lesson of how it applies to councils. I want it to be a little more fun to start with, but I also don't want role play this, at least to start with.
Calm Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 My husband agreed with RPN (independently)...have them counsel/plan something they are directly involved in. First he was thinking events...youth dance was a brilliant idea he thought, but then he shifted to service...discuss and plan assistance/reactivation around less actives their own age or service needs and then projects that pinpoint those needs for the more senior members, which he stated was essentially a big part of what ward councils do. He also said he hasn't been involved in for as long as I said because they haven't been around as long as that (he was in a student ward presidency third or fourth year we were married though). 1
