And yes it has to do with people like yourself who have no clue about realities of this issue and how to relate to the realities of this issue and many others.

Christianity has, until recently, almost unanimously condemned it harshly and a great deal of it still does. Male on male sodomy was until recently a criminal act in most states in the United States and most western nations. Gays in Muslim administered areas live under the specter of death if caught. This has only changed in the last 20-30 years.This is why I asked if you are sheltered (from both ancient and very recent history). That you imagine that gays not being able to have their children baptized in a church is the worst oppression they have suffered is insulting to just about everyone: the church for how mild it is and to gays who were persecuted, beaten, and sometimes even killed and in some places still are.So by the same token I am tired of you. 4

The guy who thinks this policy is the worst thing gays have ever endured due to religion is accusing me of being out of touch with reality. Nice try at making me feel guilty but I learned long ago not to let people threaten or promise bad behavior in order to emotionally manipulate me. You have your agency. Not attending church is your choice, not mine.

Like filovirus, I feel sad that these folks have made an affirmative decision to separate themselves from the body of the Saints because the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints refuse to refashion it in the image of dissenters. I will report back.If you are looking for gay acceptance I recommend the Unitarian Universalist church. They have almost no dogma at all but unlimited acceptance is a goal. They fall short of it in my experience but they may be what you are looking for.

There are a lot. I just grabbed one from the canon. Of course many have been revoked just like one day this one might be revoked or altered.

Unfortunately, in 2015, the Mormon church is clearly in favor of monogamy; yes, this makes you monogamists. Don't try so hard to argue against yourselves I have a good friend with two sealed wives. Hard to think of him as monogamous though by earthly standards he is. He still jokes how he has two and I still cannot find one.
