iWriteStuff Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 My son went to BYU Idaho when Elder Bednar was President. We met him and his wife, they were very gracious. The students teased him about his hair never being out of place. Oh wow your son might have been there the same time I was! 2003 to 2005. Yeah I remember the school paper had a little cartoon one week about a windy Rexburg day with stuff blowing everywhere and then it's pans over to then President Bednar and his hair is stone still. I guess he had a sense of humor about it. Apparently he does about most things, according to his family.

During conference if you miss a session, BYU channel has them recorded so you can watch it. By Wednesday after, Mormon channel has the talks separated so you can individually watch a talk.Last night we bounced around and listened to a couple of talks and several songs.There are some members who are chasing after shadows, some even resigning, some pushing to excommunication. Very sad. Some web sites pretending to be pro LDS, in reality pro anti LDS. 1

I don't even recall its actual origins (too much time has passed), but I suspect that what we ended up doing was gathered or extrapolated from something suggested in a local or general church meeting.I was just trying to make a fun poke

It is a choice experience to have Pres. Uchdorf and/or Elder Holland on a walk with me on Sunday morning. That said, I CAN watch all 5 sessions, but my mind is jello from watching WAAAY more television than a grown adult should in one single day. I wish they would/could spread it out more as I don't get out of conference everything that I want to on the first try.

I wish they would/could spread it out more as I don't get out of conference everything that I want to on the first try.I remember taking notes at a furious pace during conference on my mission... in the end, I still missed loads more than I probably caught. It's definitely an information overload to some extent, but then I think if we are paying attention the Spirit directs us to the parts we need most at that moment in time. The further pondering that comes after conference just reinforces and builds testimonies even better!

Pondering, reflecting. Add to daily experience and scripture reading.

alter idem Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 My letdown is the sudden realization that I'll be in sacrament meeting this week. I think part of my enjoyment of General Conference is that it is so low key. I don't have to get ready for church and I have no assignments to fill in my calling. All I have to do is sit and listen and every talk is excellent, because of the caliber of the speakers. The only drawback is that we don't get to take the sacrament on GC Sundays. 1

My daughter loves the Studio C sketches--she watches them on Youtube.

I lie your thread too since we can review conference till the next one. You should start one on Hector Sosa and see if he has similar issues to Julie Rowe.

I guess they still do that, but now everyone downloads the talks. Back in the olden days of CD, the music was part of the collection!
