RegularMormon Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I've always struggled with meaningful scripture reading/study and it frustrates me that I do. I WANT to read regularly and gain the blessings that come from it but it always seems to be something I 'have' to do instead of 'want' to do. I've tried so many things, praying before my study, reading along side study manuals, making goals, etc.. but I think life just happens and it gets pushed aside. What are your scripture reading habits that have worked for you? I'm just reaching out for some ideas that work and have stuck with others?
bluebell Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I listen to my scriptures while i exercise on an elliptical. I also read right before bed on days that I don't exercise. Both have good and bad points but between the two I feel like i'm doing pretty good. I know what you mean though about something always getting in the way.
Ham Clam Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I got a modern verison of the Bible and that really helped me. I can take King James English is the BoM and D&C, but it makes me want to read the Bible more now that I can actually understand a lot of things.I also find it helps if I can a de-clutter a reading space.
Tacenda Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 http://readit.howloved.com/ I saw this on FB, DBMormon's post. I guess you just type in the book and it helps you read at lightning speed!
Calm Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 If you are good about email (I am not), you could have stuff sent to you daily for you to read.
