thesometimesaint Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The Nehor: I'm comfortably middle class, and more than a few years older than your are. If we all waited till we could afford children the human species would have gone extinct.
MormonFreeThinker Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) But with your statement, you have indicated that they are also owed a car as well since they must have money for gas. (which requires insurance, upkeep, etc)Are they allowed to walk to work? It seems that you do not want to understand what I am saying. Yes they are allowed to walk to work, in fact, many Walmart employees are not have a car. I worked at Walmart, I know how it is. A 22 year old friend (Walmart associate) is the head of his house, he is taking care of his sick father and sick grandmother. Does he deserve a living wage? MormonFreeThinker Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Your repeated posts indicate that people should never have to struggle and that no one should EVER have consequences for their actions. You're going to reply with employment is not in their control. If you are that unstable in your employment, why do you want to bring a kid into that environment, much less, 3? You can answer your own questions. Many made that decision in the past, and now they are struggling, but that doesn't mean that they do not deserve to eat. In Mexico, there are a lot of people that are starving because the rich do not pay them a living wage, and there are no government programs that help them. Being poor in Mexico is hell on Earth, and there is no way out. You keep ignoring the points I made in post 162. You did not respond to the links and video I posted, it's obvious that my arguments are too strong, you are trying very hard to respond to some of them. Edited November 5, 2014 by MormonFreeThinker
Ahab Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 It seems that you do not want to understand what I am saying. Yes they are allow to walk to walk to save money, I worked at Walmart, many Walmart employees do not have a car. I have a friend that works in Walmart, he is 22 years old, he is the head of the house. His Father is sick, and his grandmother is also sick, and he doesn't have a car. Anyways, you guys are not trying to understand my points, are you guys 100% certain about way your thinking? Are you guys open minded?Yes they understand you and their own way of thinking and no they are not open minded enough to choose your way of thinking over their own way of thinking. They want the poor people to get over their poorness on their own, although they are willing to help as long as they don't put themselves in a poor house. Their financial goal for themselves is to make themselves rich so that limits how much they are willing to give to help other people. If they had more money than they needed but they didn't think they were rich or rich enough yet they would bank it or invest it rather than just give it to a poor person, or at least that would be their tendency. A charitable mood could strike them but their main financial goal is, as I said, to make themselves rich, so they have to make certain choices to get to that goal. What you need is to understand the mentality of a rich person, MFT, for your own education. It's pretty hard to make one choose to be not rich anymore in the interest of a poor person, and they usually despise the very idea of it. 1

In Florida agriculture the tomato pickers are paid by the pound. 1 cent per pound. They work hard all day for the 2 tonnes per day they can pick. So they make $40.00 per day. A 1 cent increase in wages per pound would lift them out of poverty. I'm willing to pay an increase of 1 cent per pound.
cinepro Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) A 22 year old friend (Walmart associate) is the head of his house, he is taking care of his sick father and sick grandmother. Does he deserve a living wage? No. He deserves to get paid what he and Walmart agreed he would be paid when he was hired. And just so I'm clear, do you think Walmart should pay him more than other employees solely because he has a sick father and grandmother? Edited November 5, 2014 by cinepro

Do I "deserve" to have my taxes used to underwrite the Welfare Queens that own Walmart?

We don't really want to pay more for tomatoes when we buy their tomatoes without that extra pay going to the pickers, do we? The people who pay the pickers now already make plenty of money, I think.
MormonFreeThinker Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) No. He deserves to get paid what he and Walmart agreed he would be paid when he was hired. Please try to understand what I am saying, all hard working employees deserve a living wage. A living wage is having enough for a decent apartment and food. The rich like Sheldon Adelson have so much money that they will probably never use most of it, they don't need that much. Edited November 5, 2014 by MormonFreeThinker
cinepro Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Do I "deserve" to have my taxes used to underwrite the Welfare Queens that own Walmart? I guess that would be between you and the government.
