My Medical Week

Recommended Posts

This week is ‘medical week for me. Well, it actually started last Thursday. I have medical appointments all week long for one thing or another. More ro less for basic routine check ups on things, but also for a few new concerns. This kind of gots me a little concern given the double lung cancer scare last year at this time. My appointments should conclude this Friday if all works out good. Today was blood work day. Lots of little tubes of my blood taken from my arms ( both arms ) with this shiny mental ‘sharp’ pokey needle. I hate needles, lol. Not too worried. It all needs to be done, but I am just not a big fan of being poked. 8P

Today was blood work for me too... I go every three months.  I'm such a wimp I always make the phlebotomist talk to me as they're poking me with the needle...

Now I have to test my blood glucose twice daily... I poke my fingers and they sometimes get a little sore, but I can alternate among them.

I hope all turns out well for you, Lostone... prayers.

Thank you everyone for your posts. Your sharing and supporting. I really hope all of you are not facing or dealing with any life critical health issues. Been there and it’s horrible, so my best to all that health is a blessing, not another struggle.

I am very much still busy with my health issues. I am in my early 40’s so it’s a proper time to keep regular health check ups. There are a few concerning issues that have popped up, but nothing I see to justify any real concerns. I should end this week with an overall good note on my health.

My very best to all. Blessings on your own health and thank you. 8P 8P 8P

You should be as proactive in your health as early as you can be. It is good you are not ignoring it. Too many of your age put it off because they can manage just fine 'for now'....they choose to worry about it when they have to and it ends up being worse than it needed to be.

I was misdiagnosed for decades and made worse with drugs that aggravated my disorder. I blame myself more than the doctors because I didn't insist they listen to me and I was willing to put up with half measures because I wanted so badly to function. With the Internet allowing for self education these days, I would never have gotten in that situation...but one has to be willing to take the time and make an effort to do the research (helps to connect with a good support group which has lots of members working on staying informed). You also have to be brave about sticking up for yourself to the doctor, but tread carefully as well if there are questionable drugs involved as the abuses have made life very difficult for those with legitimate need.

Speaking of medical stufff...

We just got a call from Costco about possibly contaminated nectarines...right after I had eaten one.

Luckily it was not the right (wrong is more like it) batch. Just gotten home from the store, impressed by technology, frustrated it wasn't caught a half hour earlier while he was in the store so that moment of fear didn't happen.
