I have no idea if the OP broke the godwin's rule when he mentioned Hitler, so i'm going to try to tread carefully here. It has to be said though that these same excuses were actually used by Germans and people who supported the Germans when Hitler rose to power and then did what he did with that power. Some things are never justifiable and should never be given an inch of consideration, regardless of what a group is suffering through. 1

My lack of such experience doesn't disqualify me from recognizing idiocy, such as the blatantly hateful comments of Ayelet Shaked, when I see it.
