thesometimesaint Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Cool. Will transcripts be made available?
wenglund Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Is my understanding correct that the symposium is now filled to capacity and will be streamed on-line for those unable to attend? Thanks, -Wade Englund- 1
Popular Post Daniel Peterson Posted November 1, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2013 We closed off registration at 600, because that's the capacity of the room Yes, the proceedings will be streamed. However, since the conference is free, I'm virtually certain that there will be no-shows. We'll give priority to pre-registered attendees up until the conference is about to begin, but then we'll open it up to anybody. So, if you're not pre-registered and you want to attend, and if you're feeling lucky, I would suggest that you come and try to get in. But please don't blame me if you don't get in. Blame George W. Bush for that. 5
Calm Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) http://www.mormoninterpreter.com/walk-up-registration-for-science-mormonism-symposium/ Walk-Up Registration for Science & Mormonism Symposium AdministrationSend to KindleThe 2013 Interpreter Foundation Symposium “Science & Mormonism: Cosmos, Earth & Man” is coming up this Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo, Utah. We look forward to your attendance with us.As we have already noted, pre-registrations sold out a few weeks ago. We’ve had a number of people ask if there is another way they can get tickets or gain entrance. We will have a standby line near the conference room for those who were unable to pre-register. As soon as the conference starts with opening remarks at 8:30am, we will open up the standby line to walk-up registrations until the empty seats in the conference room are filled. There is no guarantee that you’ll be able to gain entrance, but we anticipate being able to fill some empty seats once the conference begins. If you cannot gain entrance, the conference will be live streamed on the Internet via YouTube Live. You can watch the full conference from this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEtdclSQ5d8 Edited November 5, 2013 by calmoriah
katherine the great Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Wish I could attend. I'm happy to see so many members of the Biology community but I'm curious to know why there isn't a Biological Anthropologist among the presenters or panel members. IMHO, that would be extremely useful for any questions on human evolution.
Daniel Peterson Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 This won't, I think, be our last conference, nor even our last one on science and faith. We have . . . plans. 3
Gohan Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Plans eh? Sounds fun. Speaking of plans, my plan for getting to the Conference kinda/sorta fell through. Anyone near Clinton, UT able to give me a ride? 1
Gohan Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) It's been an awesome conference so far, I'm looking forward to going over and rereading the transcripts of several of these presentations. Edited November 9, 2013 by Gohan 1
David T Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I watched/listened to Bradshaw and Peck's presentations, on Genesis and Evolution respectively. Awesome, and important insights. Thanks! 1
wenglund Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Please let us know here when the videos will be available so we can watch them when we get breaks in our schedules. I hear that the transcripts will be published in early 2014, and that is great, but some of us aren't patient enough to wait that long. Also, much appreciation for organizing the event and making it accessible. Thanks, -Wade Englund- Edited November 12, 2013 by wenglund
