Bikeemikey Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Huh. That makes about as much sense as saying one can't carve a roast without understanding how the animal evolved. Also have to totally agree with you here... Add me to that snowball fight.
Stone holm Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 The Big Bang theory presents or doesn't present issues like evolution does.
thesometimesaint Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Huh. That makes about as much sense as saying one can't carve a roast without understanding how the animal evolved. Across or with the muscle grain.
thesometimesaint Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Oh my, I have to agree withERayR on something I think they maybe having a snowball fight in hell right now.Personally I believe Hell is cold. No light and no heat.
cinepro Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I don't think biology is that fragile. Is there any aspect of modern biology that isn't directly informed and influenced by (and supportive of) the Theory of Evolution? I suspect if you could show any area of biology that operated apart from the Theory of Evolution, or even better, contradicted it in any material way, you would have a Nobel Prize in short order. 1
Storm Rider Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 That is what people say now because the evidence for evolution is overwhelming and they can not run from it so easily. 50 years ago no self respecting Mormon would ever say that. AS our understanding of the universe grows our dependance on the supernatural to explain things diminishes. Perhaps God did use evolution for his own purpose, but evolution does not require God to operate. That is a fiction propagated by not looking at the impossibility of evolution to exist without God. There is no feasible answer within evolution for the initial creation of life. Pot, meet kettle. 1

There is no feasible answer within evolution for the initial creation of life. Pot, meet kettle.Hmm...this sounds a bit more like pot doing something else. The purpose of evolutionary theory is not to prove or disprove the existence of God, but rather to explain the visible evidence and generally how organic life reacts to its environment over time.
thesometimesaint Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) That is a fiction propagated by not looking at the impossibility of evolution to exist without God. There is no feasible answer within evolution for the initial creation of life. Pot, meet kettle. Evolution isn't concerned with how the first life appeared on earth. That is Abiogenesis.
