cinepro Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Why would the church, which proclaims that it is full of light and revelation, truth and righteousness, even need or desire to have quizzes about what the youth know? Obviously if the Spirit is teaching, the leaders would already KNOW what they KNOW now wouldn't they? It's possible the Brethren went to the Lord and asked what they need to be teaching the youth, and the response was that they needed to "study it out" and then ask Him. Nathair/|\ Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I'd like to see the questions and the answer key. I wonder how I stack up.
trim Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 It could be that the church is embracing some Lean Six Sigma program with a DMAIC methodology. Measure is a crucial step. Quizzing students isn't such a bad idea if they are looking at process improvement.
Freedom Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I'd like to see the questions and the answer key. I wonder how I stack up.Talk to your ward seminary teacher. Even the bishops have access to the quiz, it is posted on the seminary website that is password protected. I will ask the powers that be if the questions can be posted.
MiserereNobis Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Maybe "No Child Left Behind" has reached LDS seminary... high stakes testing to determine the quality of education Edited October 4, 2012 by MiserereNobis
MiserereNobis Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I for one thought that they should always be doing this. I had three different instructors in my four years. Each of them taught a variety of false doctrine. This problem is rampant in the Catholicism of today (post Vatican II Catholicism). Lay people are assigned to teach catechism and these teachers don't even know their own faith and so they promote false doctrines. I sympathize with you.
