Bill “Papa” Lee Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Writing out of boredom again...any good? Here in the DarkWhile frightened dogs howl in the night,And distant planes take midnight flight.I sit alone here in the darkOnce raging flame, now faded spark. The brilliant light I once did knowOf purest white, like driven snow.No longer white now fades to blackI fear it won't be coming back. When morning dawns will I findThe darkness remains within my mind? From the tree of life, I once did eatThat precious fruit pure and sweet. Then like others I was ashamedDenied the faith I once had claimed. On forbidden paths, I found my feetThe spirit willing, the flesh so weak.In foolish ways my time was spentI vowed that soon, I would repent. When from the path I did stray,In mist of darkness I lost my way. When in the river I began to drownAs swifter currents pulled me down.At river's edge I now reside,A victim of my foolish pride. The choice was made, the choice was mineTo see the light or to be blind. So thus I dwell here in the darkOnce raging flame, now faded spark.William E LeeSince reading the BoM...I used Lehi's dream for the imagery. Sorry for spelling...iPad.
