emeliza Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Yikes, Measles. I am glad they did figure it out though. Hopefully in a few weeks he will be recovering. One of the worst things is there isn't really any 'treatment' for it, but time.
ERMD Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I thought it had been eradicated like small pox.It is unusual, but definitely still out there, and prevalent in underdeveloped countries.The effort to eliminate smallpox was so intense due to the fatality rate of the illness. Measles causes congenital problems but is not the pestilence that smallpox was. I can't imagine the cost of a similar effort to eradicate an illness now.
